Solve for Why

Solve for Why

math rehab for adults

You never lacked the ability to learn math. Emotions just got in the way.

One-on-one sessions for adults who gave up on ever “getting” math. We learn the math for real, and when the old panic shows up, we work through it instead of around it.

Session 3, Tuesday
4x + 2y = 10
the old “I can't do this” showed up
2y = 10 − 4x
stopped. breathed. talked about 7th grade.
y = −2x + 5
did it anyway.

Does this happen when you sit down to do math?

Then it was never really a math problem. We work on the actual obstacles.

How it works

  1. We learn real math, together

Approached with the joy it deserves, because math is honestly really cool. Algebra, statistics, calculus, whatever you came for.

  2. Then, a little pressure

At key moments, we turn up the heat a bit. I play the impatient teacher or the frustrated parent. A sigh, a “come on, I know you know this.” You choose how hard.

  3. When it hits, we stop

The math goes on hold and we work with whatever came up, right then. The change happens right there.

  4. Repeat until you own it

Until you can sit with a hard problem on your own, and even enjoy it.

you stay in charge

In the first session you pick a pause word. Saying it ends the pressure instantly, no explanation needed.

Who you'll work with

I studied and worked in finance, and still went back for more math while working. I genuinely love teaching it. I also keep a long-standing meditation practice, and a doctor diagnosed me with ADHD as a kid, so I've worked through plenty of my own hang-ups around learning.

Human first, with AI at every step along the way

Every session consists of two people working on math together. Around that, AI does a lot of the heavy lifting, so nothing gets lost and nothing gets explained only one way.

You won't just learn math and emotional regulation. You'll be empowered to use AI to keep teaching yourself.

What this isn't

This is math tutoring and coaching with guided inner work woven in. It isn't therapy, and it doesn't replace therapy or medical care. I cannot help you if your situation goes beyond “Math triggers me so I give up on it.” If you have a therapist, keep seeing them.

Questions people ask

Is this therapy?

No. It's math tutoring and coaching with guided inner work woven in. I'm not a licensed therapist, and this doesn't replace therapy or medical care. If you have a therapist, keep seeing them.

Who is this for?

Adults (18+) who want to learn math but freeze, panic or shut down when they try. Whether you stopped at fractions or at calculus, we start where you are.

Is it online?

Yes. Sessions are one-on-one over video, so you can join from wherever you are.

What does it cost?

The first pilot round is donation based, in exchange for honest reviews and feedback.

What math can we work on?

Whatever you came for: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, math for work, or finally helping your kid with homework without panicking.

What if I panic in a session?

That's where the real work starts. We put the math on hold and work with what came up. You choose how hard I push, and your pause word ends the pressure instantly.
